Look up everything you recently copied to your Android phone.
On your Android phone, you frequently paste anything you copy right away. How would you go about pasting something you just copied a few hours ago, though? Or would you maybe duplicate several things and paste them one after the other?
In these kinds of situations, the clipboard history is useful. Regardless of the keyboard you use, we’ll show you how to check the clipboard history on your Android phone below.
View the Clipboard History on a Samsung Keyboard
It’s likely that the keyboard on your Samsung phone is the Samsung Keyboard by default. Thus, here’s how to enable text copying and saving to the clipboard:
1. Navigate to Settings > General management > Default and list keyboards. Click on Samsung Keyboard from the Default keyboard.
2. To access its options, tap the gear icon next to the Samsung Keyboard in the pop-up window.
3. Navigate to the Style and Layout menu and select the Keyboard toolbar by toggling it on.
4. Then, launch any application that allows you to enter text and tap the text box to make the keyboard visible.
5. If there’s not a clipboard icon visible on the keyboard toolbar, you can access further choices by tapping the three-dot icon.
6. To access the clipboard icon, swipe across the menu. To quickly access the clipboard whenever you open the Samsung Keyboard, simply tap and drag it to the top of the keyboard toolbar.
7. To view the items you copied, tap the clipboard icon. To mark or remove an item, tap the trash or pin icon, choose the item or items you wish to mark or remove, and then hit the Done button.
Using the Samsung Keyboard, copying and pasting content is fairly easy. To paste anything from your clipboard, just tap on it while you’re in the text input field. Check out these Samsung Keyboard tips to enhance your typing experience if this is your go-to keyboard.
Check Your Gboard Clipboard History
On most Android devices, the default keyboard is called Gboard. You’re most likely using this keyboard if your Android phone doesn’t have a skin overlay, such as OneUI on Galaxy phones. Here’s how to use Gboard’s clipboard, then.
1. The Gboard keyboard is visible when you open any programme that allows you to enter text.
2. Press the uppermost symbol on the clipboard. To make it visible if it’s hidden, tap the menu icon, which consists of four square boxes. After that, drag and drop it onto the toolbar to make it constantly accessible.
3. Tap Turn on Clipboard after choosing the clipboard tool.
4. Text can now be copied, and it will be saved to the Gboard Clipboard automatically. The most recent copied item will immediately show up above the keyboard when you choose any text box.
5. If you would prefer not to paste that content, just select another text from the five recently copied texts on your clipboard by tapping the clipboard tool and pasting it into the text field.
This allows you to copy up to five items at once and paste them one at a time into different apps.
See Your Clipboard History on Microsoft SwiftKey
Many people ignore Microsoft SwiftKey, one of the greatest Android keyboard apps, because they find that the native keyboard suffices for their needs. The following instructions will show you how to retrieve your clipboard history on Microsoft SwiftKey if you would like to try it out and set it as your preferred keyboard:
1. Make Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard the default keyboard by going to Settings > General management > Keyboard list and default > Default keyboard.
2. Launch any typing-enabled app, then tap any text field to bring up the SwiftKey keyboard.
3. Select Settings by tapping the three-dot menu symbol located on the far right of the keyboard toolbar.
4. Make sure the Remember copied items toggle is turned on by going to Rich input > Clipboard.
5. You should be able to see the clipboard symbol in the keyboard toolbar with these settings. To view any text you’ve copied in the last hour, tap it.
6. Tap the pin icon next to the text you wish to save after copying it to the clipboard, and it will remain there indefinitely.
By tapping and dragging the copied text to the desired location, you can also reorganise it. Using Microsoft SwiftKey to copy and paste text and graphics is comparable to using Gboard. To paste an item into a text field, simply tap the object on your clipboard.
SwiftKey makes it easier to operate across different platforms by allowing you to copy and paste across Windows and Android devices, even though you cannot delete clipboard information.
