X lists have their uses, but it’s a good idea to see which ones you’re on and take yourself off of those that you don’t want to be on.
Staying up to date with accounts you care about on X (previously Twitter) is made easier with X Lists. The benefit of X Lists is that, as opposed to being overwhelmed with thousands of tweets on your normal timeline, you can pick which accounts to see posts from. Additionally, adding an account to your List does not require you to follow it.
The likelihood of finding yourself on someone’s X List is quite high, but how do you find out? In this post, we’ll explain how to find out which X Lists you’re on and how to get off of them.
What Are X (Twitter) Lists?
Lists provide a superior option to a chronological timeline, even though you can switch to one on X. X has a useful feature called lists that allow you to create a personalised timeline. X Lists allow you to customise what you see, in contrast to a normal timeline that presents a variety of information. People you follow and suggestions that X’s algorithm believes you might find interesting are included in this.
Better yet, you may make an easily accessible secondary timeline by pinning your favourite Lists to the top of your home timeline when you create a List on X. That’s one of the primary justifications for using X Lists in the first place.
You and everyone else on X can join Lists and make your own. Therefore, if you discover that you are on someone’s List on X, don’t be shocked.
How to See Which X (Twitter) Lists You’re On
On X, you can be added to Lists by anyone. The upside is that you’ll be able to tell when they do. The drawback, though, is that X won’t notify you if you’ve been added to a private list. As a result, you might be included in a List that you would want not to be.
The worst aspect is that you could be harassed by someone using this service. But don’t worry, you shouldn’t give up on X entirely because of that.
You can view every List that you are a member of with X. You may use the mobile apps or the browser to view the Lists that you are a part of on X. We’ll walk you through checking on both systems.
In order to use X online, take these actions:
1. From the menu bar on the left, select Lists.
2. Select the three dots menu located in the top-right corner of the Lists page.
3. Click on the lists you are on.
4. This will direct you to a website where you can see membership in every X List that you are a part of.
How to Remove Yourself from Lists on X (Twitter)
There is only one method available on X for removing oneself from a List. X support says that’s how you do that—by preventing the List’s originator from acting.
By barring the creator, you can remove yourself from a list by doing the following:
1. From the Lists you are on page, select the X List you wish to delete yourself from.
2. On the List page, tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
3. Choose @creatorname for Block.
4. If using a mobile device, hit Block once more to confirm. Otherwise, tap Block.
This will instantly take you off the list.
After that, you can unblock the List maker if you decide you don’t want to block them indefinitely. They can still add you to their Lists in the future, though, if you do this.
Remove Yourself from X (Twitter) Lists
It is a continuous process to remove yourself from the Lists you are a part of. It’s important for you to frequently verify which X Lists you belong to. Making lists is a fantastic way to enhance your X experience.
It saves a tonne of time because you don’t have to go through hundreds or even thousands of tweets to locate pertinent content. But you also want to confirm that you are not included on any lists that you would rather not be on.
